Natural light fills the house creating shadows that dance against a mix of textures and materials that morph into a variety of patterns throughout the day. “Living in this house has been one of the true joys of our life in San Miguel de Allende” says the current owners. "For us, this house is the most beautiful space of our lifetime and we felt the responsibility ones feels when living with a work of art.”

Leaving the atrium at the opposite end of the entrance, one moves into La Sala. With ceilings still 14 feet high, this room is inviting with a fireplace and access to the back garden. Wood beam ceilings and floors create a warm and intimate space. Glass doors lead to a walled garden that is lush and functions as another living space. A fountain, seating area and outdoor dining table create a magical outdoor room for evenings at home and for entertaining.

Just off the center atrium is a family style kitchen. A large concrete table invites people to gather inside the heart of the house and enjoy the views in all directions. A pantry and laundry area are nestled in the rear of the kitchen with an outdoor space that serves as a grilling area and potted garden. A powder bath is located in the center atrium area.

The Master Bedroom, with bath, has a private balcony and fireplace. Sections of the rooms are open allowing the ivy walls of the atrium to become vistas for the Master suite.

Two guests bedrooms are positioned to provide of view of the center atrium of the house. Each bedroom, complete with a bathroom, has doors that open on both sides of the rooms creating a view of the front garden on the exterior side and the center atrium on the interior side, as well as great cross ventilation. Both bedrooms and baths are identical allowing guests to have equally beautiful spaces.

The rooftop provides seating and entertainment areas with a panoramic view of the city of San Miguel , the lake, the mountains, sunsets and its beloved architecture and cathedrals.

A covered one car garage with space for 3 four-wheel vehicles is street side. House is located in Centro and is on a street that is quiet and closed to bus traffic.

In June 2019, Luis Sanchez Renero, architect, was honored with the Emeritus Award by the Acadamia de Architectura de Mexico.

Upon entering, visitors often ask, “are we inside or outside?” Mexico’s award winning Architect Luis Sanchez Renero designed the spaces to echo the essence of the streets of San Miguel de Allende. Interior spaces are varied “patios” connected by a beautiful variety of textures that are familiar in Mexico. Expertly finished concrete walls soar several stories with glass atriums as you enter. Lush green covered walls lead you into the atrium bringing the outside garden along with you as you enter the house. Only a few steps in either direction takes you into intimate spaces with hand hewn mesquite flooring and beamed ceilings. The mix of volume and materials is a spectacular experience as your walk through this house.
