The Structure and Amenities

As for the apartment itself, all construction and fixtures are new.  Much of the construction was completed with Contec block, an insulated building material.  As a result, the apartment stays a little cooler when it’s hot and warmer when it’s cold, moderating the temperature nicely.   The upstairs unit has quite a lot of light, and I usually don’t need to turn on any lights during the day.  There is a filtered water system throughout, so you can safely drink from any tap.  Screened windows on either end allow for a great breeze to flow through, and ceiling fans in bedrooms and living areas add even more ventilation.  In addition, the apartments are very secure, and include an exterior iron front door and individual doors to both the downstairs and upstairs units.

 

The Neighborhood

I like it.  I’ve found the neighbors to be friendly and helpful.  There’s a great little tienda on the corner that sells nearly everything and a paletería next door.  It’s somewhat more residential than the blocks closer to the Ancha, so a little quieter.  It's also right on the bus line, and best of all, it's a quick, flat walk to Centro.
