When I first arrived in San Miguel, I visited a few authentic haciendas -  majestic and sprawling places with green areas, stables, ancient chapels and grand stone walls.  As much as I loved their history and charm, they were neither affordable nor conveniently located.  I wished there was a hacienda-like home for the “rest of us.”  And now there is.
