Kathy Patterson

Kathy Patterson, a native Texan, is completely bilingual and bicultural. She started selling real estate in San Miguel in 2012. Kathy is non-stop; she works for her clients to see that they are getting the attention and service they deserve, and has gained significant respect within the San Miguel real estate community. With her undergraduate degree in Communication, Sales, Marketing and Public Relations, and a minor in Spanish and Latin American studies, she really knows how to listen – in two languages! Her first sale, only several weeks after starting in real estate, was to Mexican Nationals. They made up their mind after they saw three houses.

She continues to use those skills in marketing homes for sellers to prospective buyers. Kathy also has experience designing, building and selling residential and commercial real estate in Colorado, California and Texas, some of which has been featured in Sunset magazine. Kathy believes that her love for Mexico, her ability to communicate easily and her dedication to learning and teaching are what makes her successful in real estate.

Upon moving to San Miguel, Kathy worked as a teacher at a private bilingual school. She has also served as a board member for many local charities, including The Biblioteca’s House and Garden Tour, Casita Linda and the Red Cross. In addition, she started the only emergency medical alert system in San Miguel and surrounding areas, Life Saver Wellness.

Kathy attended the University of Texas where she was a member of Alphi Phi, the University of Houston, and Chapman University where she earned teaching credentials in Secondary Education; ESL, Spanish, Special Ed and two Masters degrees, one in Curriculum Design and Instruction and one in Business Administration. After college, Kathy went to work for the Mexican government, where for over 13 years she promoted Mexico and perfected her Spanish. She is a current member of AMPI and serves as the Biblioteca Volunteer Coordinator.

Kathy combines her past experience and her love for Mexico into her passion: meeting people and providing real estate services with true confidence and knowledge.
